Daily maintenance of scanning electron microscope

Operating steps and daily maintenance precautions of scanning electron microscope:

1. Remove the dust cover, and turn on the power supply.

2. Place the sample on the stage gasket, and adjust the coarse/fine tuning knob for focusing till the clear image is observed.

3. Adjust the position of stage, and find the view field to be observed for the purpose of metallographic analysis.

4. During focusing of scanning electron microscope, notice to prevent the object glass from touching the sample for fear of scratching the object glass.

5. When the position of round hole center of stage gasket is far from the center of object glass, it is forbidden to switch the object glass in order to prevent the object glass from scratch.

6. The brightness must not be adjusted extremely, or very high, in order to protect the service life of bulb and prevent the eyesight from damage.

7. All (the functions) shall be switched gently and properly.

8. Upon shutdown, the brightness shall be minimized.

9. In order to protect the image quality .The metallographic microscope lighting system (filament position lamp) must not be adjusted by the unprofessional worker,

10. Upon replacement of halogen lamp, the high temperature shall be noticed for fear of burn; notice not to touch the glass of halogen lamp directly by hand.
