Common sense about use of physical metersPrecautions for use of specific surface area and aperture analyzers The followings shall be noticed during use of specific surface area and aperture analyzers: 1. Sample degassing before test The rationality of degassing condition is vital for the test result. If the measuring result is lower, we shall mainly consider the comprehensive analysis on different conditions, for example: if the processing time is shorter, if the degassing temperature is insufficient or excessive, or if the vacuum degree is insufficient. 2. Audit of test method It is suggested to abide by the professional instructions in aspects of laboratory inspection results, calculation methods and relative pressure range; the BET linear fitting coefficient shall be above 0.999 at least. 3. Test level of technicians As a precondition to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of result, the technicians shall fully understand and well know and use the test principles, analytical instrument, operating steps and result calculation. 4. Instrument calibration The laboratory shall pay attention to the such analytical instrument as analytical balances, specific surface area and aperture analyzers, for example: if the weighing result of balance is accurate; if the specific surface area analyzer leaks gas; if the results of repeated tests performed on the sample are sound. |
